Date: 31 January 2026
Time: 1pm
Location: Inside my head

Chair: December Me
Attendees: January Me (issued apology for late arrival)

Meeting opened at 1.09pm

Summary of minutes from previous meeting (December 2025)

December meeting outlined a clear but modest agenda for January in line with organisation expectations for 2026.

No sweeping resolutions. No personality overhaul. Just a handful of small tweaks designed to make life run a little more smoothly. A gentle level-up.

Chair’s opening remarks

It is with some disappointment that I report a severe discrepancy between January expectations vs reality. None of the planned agenda items were actioned, or even attempted, and several items not listed on the agenda were undertaken without notice, consultation, or any obvious strategy.

Actions register

  • Morning motivation
Planned action: Establish gentle earlier-to-rise routine.
    Status: Not actioned.
Notes: January Me continued to resist getting out of bed.
  • Relationship with phone
    Planned action: Conscious uncoupling.
    Status: Not actioned.
Notes: Still joined at the … er … palm.
  • Eating habits
Planned action: Eat a proper breakfast.
    Status: Not actioned.
Notes: Late-morning toast remains the dominant solution.
  • House organisation
Planned action: Achieve Marie Kondo-level order.
    Status: Not actioned.
Notes: No evidence of supernatural intervention over the end-of-year break.
  • Writing schedule
Planned action: Get ahead on writing.
    Status: Not actioned.
Notes: January Me continued to fly by the seat of her pants.

Items without notice

  • Walks on the beach with the dog most days.
  • Increased appreciation for sunny days and good health.
  • Six ocean swims.

Resolutions

No formal resolutions adopted.

Agreement reached to:

  • Adjust the scope of planned improvements.
  • Continue items without notice, where feasible.
  • Reassess deferred actions once conditions become more favourable (or interest returns).

Closing comments

January concluded with mixed results; however, mental health and morale remains acceptable.

Scope for February has been adjusted accordingly.

Meeting closed at: 1.15pm
